After Positive Test Florida State Postpones Game Vs. Duke

A positive test for COVID-19 within the Florida State basketball program prompted the 18th-ranked Seminoles to postpone their scheduled Saturday home game against 20th-ranked Duke.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the postponement late Friday night, stating that the Florida State program was undergoing quarantine protocols and contact tracing.

Before the game was pushed back, Duke had announced that it would be without coach Mike Krzyzewski for the contest.

The Basketball Hall of Famer did not make the road trip due to COVID-19 contact tracing.

According to the school, Krzyzewski "will observe standard quarantine protocol after being exposed to an individual not in the travel party who tested positive for COVID-19."

Associate head coach Jon Scheyer was due to guide the team in Krzyzewski's absence.

The Blue Devils (3-2, 1-0 ACC) haven't played since Dec.
16, when they opened league play with a 75-65 win at Notre Dame. Duke subsequently canceled its remaining nonconference schedule due to COVID-19 concerns, then had its scheduled Tuesday game at Pitt postponed due to COVID-19 issues in the Panthers' program.

Krzyzewski, 73, is in his 41st season at Duke, where he owns a 1,087-293 record.

His teams have reached the Final Four 12 times, and he guided the Blue Devils to national championships in 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010, 2015.

Including his time as head coach at Army (1975-76 to 1979-80), Krzyzewski has a career 1,160-352 record, the most victories in men's Division I basketball history.
