The authorities are appealing for the public's help after two men had escaped from a prison in north-east [/news/china/index.html China] in a rare break-out.
The pair, believed to be still at large in Liaoning province, reportedly escaped on Thursday by using access cards and wearing uniforms they stole from prison guards at Lingyuan Third Prison. 
Prison escapes are very rare in China, with the [ ] saying in 2014 that there had been only seven major cases since 2007.

Wang Lei, 34, and Zhang Guilin, 40, were serving life sentences for kidnapping and robbery respectively.
The Chinese police is offering a 100,000-yuan (£11,000) reward for anyone with information leading to the men's capture as they launched an enormous manhunt.
In the country's history, no one has been successful in attempting a break-out from prison, according to [ ]
Wang Lei was involved in a kidnapping and murder of a 11-year-old child in December 2013, according to [ ]. Wang initially was sentenced to death but later had his sentence commuted to life imprisonment in 2017 for good behaviour.
Zhang was sentenced to seven years in jail for robbery in 2001. However, he reoffended in 2009, a little over a year following his release. For his second offence, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Zhang made two escape attempts in the following years, quế lâm according to Beijing News citing a judgment sheet, and punched another inmate during a fight in 2014.
Wang is reported to be only educated to high school level and that Zhang is illiterate.

'All relevant departments have been asked to c[ 'This matter is of high importance to the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and government. An emergency response plan has been launched and according to our evidence, we believe the offenders are still in Liaoning province,' the bureau added.
Tracking and arrests efforts might have been made more difficult as millions of Chinese people are on the move during the week-long national holiday.
Wang's mother told reporters that his son is a 'disappointment.'
'If I see him, I'll tell him to stop running and to turn himself in. If you've committed a crime, you should be responsible for it,' Wang's mother told Beijing News. She last visited him in 2017.
